American Lending Center (ALC) and Sunstone are proud to announce they are the Cultural Sponsors of the first-ever Lunar New Year Parade and Festival at Irvine’s Great Park on Saturday, Feb. 7.
This celebration – marking the start of the Year of the Fire Horse – will kick off at 11 a.m. with a parade featuring community organizations, local marching bands and schools. The festival opens at noon at Great Park Live with a full schedule of performances, family-oriented games, calligraphy, arts and crafts, and a wide variety of food available for purchase.
This event is co-hosted by the Asian American Museum at Great Park and the South Coast Chinese Cultural Center. Title sponsors are the City of Irvine and Great Park, and Wells Fargo is the presenting sponsor. In addition to ALC and Sunstone is the City of Hope Orange County as a Cultural Partner. Community Sponsors include the Irvine Ranch Water District and the Orange County Power Authority.
The parade begins near Parking Lot 4 and marches along the Great Park Historical Timeline to Great Park Live. Spectators can watch the parade for free; entry into the festival is $2 per person.
Said Mayor Larry Agran in a statement to the Asian American Museum at Great Park: “Irvine is proud to support this inaugural Lunar New Year Parade and Festival at the Great Park. This celebration reflects the cultural richness of our community and the spirit of inclusion that defines Irvine. We welcome residents and visitors alike to come together, celebrate the Year of the Horse, and enjoy this meaningful new tradition.”

“It is such an honor to support this unprecedented cultural event here in Irvine, our home,” said John Shen, founder of both ALC and Sunstone. “This parade and festival will bring the community together and create an incredible milestone for those who celebrate Lunar New Year. We’ll see you there!”
“This Lunar New Year Parade and Festival reflects our mission to celebrate and share Asian American stories through culture, history, and community gathering, and we’re proud to help establish it as a meaningful annual tradition at the Great Park,” said Jack Toan, Executive Director of the Asian American Museum.
You can meet the ALC and Sunstone teams in the parade, and at our booths for face painting and balloon animals. Come and experience the joy and traditions of the Lunar New Year with the community.
