Position: Bilingual Private Bank Intern — English and Chinese

Employer: Sunstone Bank & Trust

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9am – 6pm

Job Summary:

As a Private Bank Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the world of wealth management and private banking. You’ll work closely with experienced private bankers and wealth managers, assisting them with client servicing, financial planning, and investment strategy. This internship provides a unique opportunity to develop skills in relationship management, financial analysis, and high-net-worth client support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in client onboarding and account opening processes, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Support private bankers in preparing financial reports, investment proposals, and other client-related materials.
  • Help manage client relationships by addressing client inquiries and providing information on banking services and products.
  • Observe and learn about risk management practices and compliance regulations relevant to private banking.
  • Attend client meetings and take notes, helping to track client goals, needs, and follow-up actions.
  • Support the team with administrative tasks, such as organizing files and events, maintaining records, and updating client information.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a keen interest in private banking and wealth management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to interact professionally with high-net-worth clients.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with financial software is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Previous experience in customer service or finance is advantageous but not required.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual in English and Chinese is required.
